MY GRAND CHALLENGE

Providing Access to Clean Drinking Water

I believe in improving the world by enhancing the standards of living. I have found that you can spend all of your efforts repeatedly treating symptoms without affecting a single thing. My goal is to treat things at the source. I believe that the decline in access to clean water poses a great threat to our everyday lives. Without clean water, all other projects would cease to exist. I have decided to dedicate my work by finding creative solutions to provide access to clean drinking water prior to tackling any other issues.

GCSP TO ME

I was first drawn to the Grand Challenges Scholars Program because I wanted to have a sense of belonging to something bigger than myself. I want to work with diverse individuals in an interdisciplinary way to help solve real-world problems.

I’m intrigued by multiple challenges that ultimately work together to reach a common goal. I’m most interested in improving the quality of life. This is why I'm entrigued by engineering better medicines while reducing cost and being environmentally cautious about my design, application, and disposal. This has also drawn me to making solar energy more economical and providing access to clean water.
